Top Hits of the 2008-2009 NHL Season

I’m going to go with the top hits of the ’08-’09 season because metaphorically that’s what the kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid’s going through today. Because I am getting RAILROADED with work right now…enjoy the video, I have not been able to watch it yet.

By the way, I was walking past Tresca last night on my way home from work, and outside they had pictures of local Bruins players, autographed, with a note like “Thanks for the great food, Milan Lucic”. I was thinking, if I ate at Tresca or Lucca or whatever, I wonder if they would post a picture of me sitting in my cube working, an action shot of course, with a little note. I think it would be pretty cool, my only concern is that someone would try and steal it to make a few bucks by selling it on eBay.

OK, I had a chance to watch the video, and I think I can align my day really well with hit #4 or #2. Here’s why, as for hit #4, here I am thinking I’m  making a pretty good play today, I put the puck on net (finish off some projects) and then BAAAAAAAAAAM, I get blindsided and my sh*t goes everywhere….as for hit #2, here I am going through my day going to make some moves, get the puck deep, yea I know I’m going to get rubbed out, but whatever. Next thing you know the GD turnbuckle shows its face and picking my chicklets up off the ice (translated to I’m trying to cruise out of here, under the radar, I’ll probably have some things to do, and then BOOM, I get my clock cleaned by some project I didn’t anticipate).

Havlat Dunked By Kronwall

I’m on the Vineyard right now, so I’m not going to do much Loging. However, I wanted to throw up this hit that Nicklas Kronwall put on Martin Havlat. Honestly, I thought Havlat was dead, and it’s kind of creepy to watch him lay on the ice. The NHL should have a good time sorting out this one. Was it legal? Did Kronwall deserve a 5-minute major? I don’t know, you decide. When he made contact, his feet were on the ice, on his follow through his feet left the ice. I will say it was a clean when it comes to the contact, Kronwall’s elbow was tucked in, and it was all shoulder. Either way, Chicago blew a 3-0 lead only to win in overtime.

Congrats to ChickenParm for winning the Guess the Scorer contest, with his pick of the pride of UVM, Sharp. Lets do this again for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Please put your pick of who will score the first goal, in the comments section, along with the period and time to settle a tie.

NHL Fight of the Week-3/30

To start off my “… of the Week” series I’m going to designate Monday as “Fight of the Week”. Why Monday? Well it’s typically the day you want tickle someones ivories because you’re not quite ready for the weekend to be over yet. Initially I was going to go with the Vancouver Canucks vs. Chicago Blackhawks line brawls, but commissionerdangle already used that in his NHL Links post. For one, I don’t want to double post, it’s bad form, and two, the commish beat me to it. I’d like to note though, there is nothing like a good line brawl to spark an old-school hockey nostalgic feeling.
