Idiot of the Day Award Goes To: KEITH BALLARD! Also, Ovechkin’s season may be over…

So village idiot and league tough guy Keith Ballard decided to take his frustrations out on  his own teammate, goaltender Tomas Vokoun. In reality Ballard was angry about Kovlalchuck’s goal and tried to break his stick over the cross bar. However, Ballard didn’t look before swinging for the fences and instead hit Vokoun, who was trying to find his jock strap. Vokoun was taken to the hospital for a deep gash to his ear, but will make a full recovery.

The video is pretty funny when you see Ballard do his best Sammy Sosa impression, but what happened after? Where did he go? You don’t really see him again…

Here’s a quick look at it:

For Sale: 1 Bruins Season Ticket, Great Seats, Terrible Team and Management

Chuck Kobasew

What’s going on at the TD Garden? Well I know what’s not going on, winning. The B’s drop another one to soon-to-be homeless Phoenix after stomping Dallas 3-0. Where is the consistency? And then, they go and trade slumping Chuck Kobasew to Minnesota for “rights” to sign forward Alexander Fallstrom and forward Craig Weller, and the Wild’s 2011 second round draft pick. So let me get this sorted out, the B’s were going to deal Kobasew in the off season so they could sign Kessel, they don’t, instead the get draft picks, Kessel goes to Toronto and now we get rid of Kobasew for some potentially signed forwards and a draft pick. Chiarelli, how many picks do you want? You’re picking up draft picks like they are dot-com stock shares in the late 90’s.

Kessel Will Play Against Ottawa; Ference Out

Kessel In

A few notes from the Bruins Blog

  • Fernandez with the start
  • Kessel will play after a 2-week break with an undisclosed injury
  • No players from Providence have been called up for this game; although it means nothing to either team, it’s a good chance for the B’s to tune up their game
  • Ference left practice early today in order to get checked out at MGH, his injury is also disclosed, however Julien is hinting toward a longer than normal stay on the IR. Lets hope he can make it back for the playoffs.
  • Hysteria in Montreal, as Andrei Markov and Mathieu Schneider appear to be shelved for a while.
  • The New York Rangers take on the Montreal Canadiens in a fight for the 7th spot. New York is hoping to just make the playoffs considering the Florida Panthers (in Philly tonigth) are now tied in points (tie breaker goes to the Rangers) for the eight spot.
