Kessel’s sugery successful

kessel

Reporters from both the Boston Globe and TSN are reporting that Boston Bruins forward Phil Kessel is now in recovery from a successful left shoulder surgery that repaired a torn rotator cuff. Although the surgery was successful, Kessel is expected to be in rehab for six months which will put him out for the start of next season. He becomes a restricted free agent July 1, and at this point it is unclear whether or not he will be back in Boston for the 2009 / 2010 season.

Regardless, all of us at the Loge wish Phil a healthy and full recovery.

    This is pretty shocking news

I have never in all my years of watching sports once heard them announce that somone had ‘unsuccessful’ surgery.

      How about Tom Brady?

‘Brady has more procedures for surgery infection; Pats unsure of return’
      http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3658987

And didn’t Charlie Weis almost die from gastric bypass surgery?

      Sugar, stop bein a plug.

There are plenty of unsuccessful surgeries. People die on the table every day and I’m pretty sure that would be considered unsuccessful. Some people have reactions to the anesthesia that causes the surgery to not even be performed or worse the person dies. Maybe they cut the kid open and there’s too much swelling and they have to close up the incision and try another time. Maybe an injury is so bad they can’t repair it when they see it up close. And if you’re only talking about professional athletes, given they have the best surgeons in the world working on them, the failure rate is extremely low but it still exists. Shit happens.

Cammi you are such a tool…..i love how you comment on a week old post just to fire me up.

I was making a joke of the fact that every time an athlete undergoes surgery there is a press release announcing that it was successful. IN THE SPORTS WORLD you never hear a team announce that a player’s surgery was unsuccessful. It was a joke. Stop taking everything so literally or you will need successful surgery to remove my fist from your skull.

Blame the week old thing on the Loge…not a lot of news on here lately and your ignorant comment caught me eye.

I’m sure IN THE SPORTS WORLD (as you said in all caps, even though I specifically addressed sports, Stevie Wonder) that there are unsuccessful surgeries but you just don’t hear about them because they’re so few (is the point clear enough now big shot?). Let’s get that surgery set up pronto…I’m sure your boyfriend can’t wait to get your fist back inside him.

I wish Phil a full recovery and hope he comes back as a real hockey player instead of a cherry picking pussy who doesn’t hit

Brady’s problems came after the surgery…..it was still announced as a successful surgery.

Kessels days in boston are over.
