Bruins Recap, Jack Edwards nightmare and NHL Links – 3.30

Creep

Creep

Bruins took a big 4-3 game over the Philly last night.

This post will be mostly filled with videos since I didn’t get much sleep after waking up in cold sweats all night from reoccurring nightmares of Jack Edward’s psychotic cackle. Video below if you haven’t seen it yet:

“Salad” Night in Philly

salad-pic

Forget the famous Philly Cheesesteak we want a salad!!!!  Now isn’t this just classic hockey player fun…………to have a whole night dedicated to yourself for having the “best salad” on your team and most likely the league, now that deserves a pat on the back.  Last night the Flyers faced off against the Panthers in a “Scotty Hartnell Wig Giveaway Night,” now the bad part about this night is that you had to be under 14 in order to get one.  Let’s be honest, no 14 year old is going to utilize this wig effectively.  This wig is meant to be used when you’re near blackout at a party with all of your buddies and trying to get a laugh out of the ladies so you can rope one in late night.  Perhaps, if you’re like some of us here at the Loge, you’ll even find some shampoo late night with your lady friend to wash that wig with!!

Florida’s Horton Legitimizes Fighting in the NHL

A quick note before I meet up with commissionerdangle for some lunch. This was a fight from last night, and the prime example why fighting is necessary in hockey. It holds people accountable for their actions. After Maxim Afinogenov scored an empty-netter to seal the 5-3 victory for Buffalo, Florida’s Horton cheap shots Afinogenov. It’s to bad Ballard had to stick up for Horton and fight tough guy Rivet, but it happens. It goes to show that attempts to injure star players will not be tolerated in the NHL. There are immediate consequences, and issues are dealt with on the ice. I’m sure some suspensions and/or fines will stem from this battle. Horton better be buying steak dinners for Ballard for the rest of the season considering Ballard had to deal with the judge, jury, and executioner otherwise known as Craig Rivet. Rivet, one of the most stand-up captains in the league, loves the rought stuff and I would not like to meet him in a dark alley…Buffalo is one team that has some bruisers that are not afraid to stick up for their teammates….proven in 2007’s line brawl with Ottawa.

Heads up for a great piece on Hartnell from The Freshness around 2pm today.

Canadiens celebrating a potential 8-seed for the 2009 playoffs

Whats up with the Blue Nipple? Must be an Avon Old Farms thing...

Whats up with the Blue Nipple? Must be an Avon Old Farms thing...

On Wednesday we posted some pretty entertaining photos of the Montreal Candiens’ core group of future leaders partying pretty hard.   If you did not get a chance to see that post, I suggest you give it a look, Party Like a Rock Star…or a Montreal Canadien.  As promised, the pictures don’t stop there.  Loge19.com has some more photos of these youngsters “Living the Dream,” and we want to share them with you!  TheKiiid was able to find this great article from NHL.com, discussing the ups and downs of the Habs season, with some pretty interesting quotes when pictures like these are floating around.  Enjoy!

Brad Staubitz throttling Jordin Tootoo

I know this video does not have sound, but it’s the HQ version and the videos with audio were grainy. Either way Jordin Tootoo of Nashville really took a beating last Thursday night, compliments of Brad Staubitz. Probably one of the best fights last week, a prequel to the series starting next week: Fight of the Week, Hit of the Week, Goal of the Week, and Save of the Week. A-very Warm Welcome From the Big Apple

"Hey Fatso, I'm Baaaaacck"

"Hey Fatso, I'm Baaaaacck"

I’m sick of reading articles and blog posts about how Sean Avery is an idiot, how he has not changed, and how he will surely wear out his welcome in New York, “like he has everywhere else.”  Listen, we all know Avery can be a punk and he does some stupid stuff at times, but lets not get carried away here; after all, he is slowly becoming a new face of the NHL.
